Hi, my name is Lea
I’m a 16-year-old passionate vegan, blogger, and food photographer from Denmark. I created this blog shortly after going vegan, inspired by the many other vegan bloggers and their beautiful lifestyles and diets. I wanted to eat foods that not only tasted, but also looked delicious, and I wanted to share my newfound vegan lifestyle and love for plants with other people as this way of living has helped me heal and grow in so many ways.
Welcome to Spirende Veganer, my corner of the internet where I share my recipes, lifestyle, and other posts related to health or veganism. All my recipes are vegan, of course, and most of them are based on whole foods, refined sugar-free, and oil-free, too. I’m not a chef by any means, the recipes are just meals that I like to eat, and they are often simple and don’t require a lot of time or work. I love eating an abundant diet with lots of whole plant foods and place for treating myself, too.
The name “Spirende Veganer” is Danish and means “sprouting vegan” in English. In the beginning of my journey to veganism, that is what my mum called me. When I started my blog and had to choose a name for it, that is also what came first to my mind. My plan was to write in Danish, but then I decided to shift to English to be able to reach more people.
I have now been blogging for over a year, and during this time, this has grown more than I could ever have imagined. In December 2018, I was nominated for Årets Veganske Nye Blog (New Vegan Blog of the Year) by Danmarks Veganske Forening (the Danish Vegan Society). I had over 17.000 visitors last year. And my Instagram profile has over 500 followers (which might not seem like a lot, but to me it is).
Beside cooking, working on my blog, and taking pictures, you can find me reading romance novels, cuddling with my guinea pigs, painting with watercolours, practising yoga, and trying to find my way on this journey that is called life.
Thank you for visiting my blog and taking your time to get to know me. If you have a question for me, you can ask it here.
